What is MineEye ?

MineEye is a like-minded community of artists, writers and musicians from all over the world that have met on social media. From the start, we fell into friendship, have always been mutually-supportive of each others endeavours and have created a warm and positive network. We believe that talent should be nurtured and reinforced – expressing yourself and your art can be a challenge and is not always an easy journey, so we help each other in every way we can. Sometimes, a kind word at the right time can make all the difference !

I found your site through a friend’s twitter post, and thought I’d check you out. Very glad I did, this is RIGHT up my alley for where I’m at in life. I’ve self-published I dunno… maybe 9 or 10 little chapbooks of poetry using local copy shops and doing the collating and stapling and binding all myself, but I haven’t done anything like that in almost a decade, and my family & lifelong mates have been bugging me to make a new book for them. I’ve got it most of the way laid out, and my sister is almost done with the cover illustration, but it seems such a pain to go through all the time, effort and EXPENSE of publishing paper yet again, plus photocopy text often rubs off the pages over time, not to mention the cost of POSTAGE to mail all them out to everyone who wants one!

ah well I could go on and on, but I’ll stop my whingeing and just say I really want to publish my first e-book, but all the different companies are so complicating and intimidating, and I don’t know nearly enough to market & sell the e-book myself. Your site explains things so simply and I love that you’re focused on new authors & authors new to the e-book world! I’m going to hurry and finish the page layout on my book as fast as I can, hopefully I can get it in before your grand-opening promotions end!

… but even if I don’t get it done on time, it looks like your services are ones I can actually afford if I budget properly, all the other publishers I’ve researched are practically asking me to live off thin gruel for a year to afford to publish with them. THANK YOU for focusing on authors & all-around-creatives like me! (Finally, SOMEONE did!)

I had no idea what this was when I first started looking at the website but after looking and coming back again and clicking a couple links I realize this is something totally new! Something I have never seen done before. This is a wonderful idea and I hope it is very successful!

Quick question I see novels and maybe I’m blind so no picking but what about poetry? Does that have a place here or just books?

Hi ! Thanks for your comment – and we have taken on board what you say about being clearer about what we do up front ! We don’t have any poets on board at the moment but you will be welcome indeed… would you care to be our first one ?

I think this is a very good idea. I run a Carers Book Club and two of our members write stories and poetry that they publish on their blog and facebook pages. I will be sure to tell them about this.
